Vital Records - Birth and Death Certificates
Birth and Death Certificates have to be applied for in the county in which the birth or death occurred or through Indiana Vital Records. If you are needing a genealogy copy of birth or death, please contact us first to make sure we have the record. Genealogy copies are not legal documents and are $1.00 per copy.

Immunizations and Nursing Services
The Switzerland County Health Department provides ALL recommended and required vaccines for newborn through age 18. These vaccines are available regardless of insurance status, but the health department does recoup costs, when possible, from Medicaid and or private insurance. Please call ahead to minimize wait time by having your insurance status pre-entered for your appointment. Parents may view a complete list of recommended and required school vaccines HERE on the Indiana Department of Health website.
Adult vaccines are also available for ages 19 and above. The costs for adult vaccines are dependent on insurance coverage and can range from free to the full cost of the vaccine. Again, please call ahead for an appointment and to provide insurance information.
Additional services include: *Testing for TB * Blood Pressure Screens * Blood Sugar Testing * Hemoglobin * Lead Testing * Pregnancy Testing * *Administration of routine injections such as vitamin B12.
We also offer a sharps container exchange for county residents.
